THE HIDDEN COSTS OF INCREASING DATA STORAGE

The amount of stored data increases daily. Between the overall volume of data being created and the strict controls over what data is stored in compliance with regulations such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and HIPAA, people and companies need more storage for their data. However, the costs associated with increasing data storage aren’t as clear cut as the costs of simply purchasing a bigger hard drive - there are other costs associated with increasing data storage. Visit here to read our latest article outlining the hidden costs of increasing data storage.

RECOVERED DATA KIT IS A HIT WITH DATA RECOVERY CUSTOMERS

"Your data has been recovered" is exactly what data recovery customers want to hear at the conclusion of a data loss scare. The natural follow-up question to this piece of good news is: "So, when will I be up and running again?"

To help customers quickly restore their recovered data, Ontrack offers multiple storage media options for receiving recovered data. A storage option that is becoming increasingly popular is the "Recovered Data Kit." These kits include your recovered data, an external hard drive unit, USB 2.0 and FireWire interface Cables, and Power Supply and cable. The plug-and-play external hard drives are available to Ontrack customers in 80-, 160- and 250-gigabyte models at very competitive prices and offer customers one of the fastest methods for resuming normal operations. After restoring the recovered data from the external drive, customers may choose to use the drive to backup their data.

Customers may also choose CD-ROM, DVD-ROM and tape formats for receiving their recovered data. Find out more about Ontrack Data Recovery data recovery service options.

CUSTOMERS SAY IT BEST

Ed Pierce lost his data after installing a new operating system. As fate would have it, Ontrack was presenting their data recovery services onsite and was able to recover Ed’s data right there utilizing their patented Remote Data Recovery(tm) service. Ed’s story below outlines the specifics of his data recovery success:

I was utilizing one hard drive on my computer as a data drive. It contained three years of archive audio productions for a weekly show. When I installed a new operating system on a different system disk and dual booted, poof! I could no longer see any of the data files due to a directory corruption. \We had no backups, so I thought the data was lost.

Thankfully, Ontrack came to AppleCare to demonstrate their data recovery services. I offered the challenge of my drive as an example and Ontrack was up to the challenge. Ontrack engaged their Remote Data Recovery service, and after only a few minutes of scanning they were able to find a directory structure and put the missing contents back into place. The service I received was friendly, helpful and efficient. The teamwork demonstrated by the sales, technical and remote expert folks working on this drive spoke very highly about the type of business principles Ontrack lives by. Collaboration seems to be their natural style, and those are the kind of pros I like to work with.
