Eighty IT specialists will be hired in 2012 in the Kroll Ontrack Poland research and development center

80 New IT Specialists for Poland R&D Team

Sydney, June 26, 2012 – Kroll Ontrack, the leading provider of data recovery, e-discovery and information management, today announced it is doubling its research and development (R&D) team over the next five years. Nearly eighty new specialists will be hired prior to the end of 2012 in Katowice, Poland, making it the company’s largest R&D center outside the U.S.

“Data is our passion at Kroll Ontrack and this is evident in our technology and its performance,” said Chuck Crymble, CTO, Kroll Ontrack. “This investment in R&D will enable us to better stay ahead of the data recovery, e-discovery and information management trends and create new technology solutions that not only address our clients’ needs, but anticipate them as well as the opportunities in the broader market.”

“In addition to developing new legal and data and storage technologies, the global R&D expansion initiative better ensures a fully optimized Kroll Ontrack service and project execution schedule,” added Crymble. “Katowice, in particular, is seven hours ahead of headquarters and several leading technology universities are in the area, so Kroll Ontrack is able to maximize its clock coverage with a facility there as well as recruit some of the best and brightest development talent.”

With the addition of the 80 new R&D specialists, the Katowice R&D center will employ more than 100 IT specialists. The Katowice-based R&D center was established in 2004 as part of the Kroll Ontrack Poland branch, which also houses the largest data recovery and computer forensics lab in Central and Eastern Europe. On average, 800 cases are resolved in the Kroll Ontrack Katowice data recovery and computer forensics lab each year.
