Microsoft Exchange and SQL servers now covered for data loss

~ Ontrack launches world’s first data recovery service for Microsoft servers ~

Ontrack has become the first company to develop the capability to recover data lost from both Microsoft® Exchange and Microsoft® SQL servers remotely.

The Ontrack service, available through the company’s Remote Data Recovery™ or in-lab facilities, restores inaccessible files, folders and address books from Microsoft® Exchange as well as tables and row data from SQL databases. As a result, businesses can save time and money in financial, legal and productivity ramifications.

Aimed specifically at IT managers, the service is designed to recover critical data lost due to catastrophic hard disk and server hardware failures, including RAID controller errors. It can also recover data lost during software failures, such as internal database corruption, accidental deletion of database files and deletion of database objects. Damaged files are restored into new, readable files that are quickly accessible, reducing downtime data entry costs.

Using Ontrack’s proprietary data recovery tools, the service can recover files from Exchange Server v5.0, v5.5 and 2000, as well as from SQL Server v6.5, v7.0 and 2000.

Recently an NHS hospital in Wales required Ontrack’s services when the data on its main Exchange server, used for all email correspondence, became corrupted. Following a search on the Internet for data recovery companies, Ontrack was the only one offering a remote service whilst all the others required the hospital to remove the hard drive and send it away for repair. The whole recovery process only took three hours, whereas sending the hard drive away would have taken over a week.
