Ontrack launches DIY file repair bundle

~ EasyRecovery FileRepair rescues damaged documents from any Microsoft Office application ~

Ontrack, a provider of data availability software and service solutions, has launched a complete do-it-yourself file repair solution.

EasyRecovery FileRepair mends files corrupted by technical failures, crashes, viruses, accidental system shutdowns or power cuts from all Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.

The utility software works in a two-step process. It repairs Office files and then restores them into new readable documents. This cuts down the time-consuming process of file reproduction.

“Recreating files that have become corrupted or damaged can be extremely costly, as well as frustrating and inconvenient,” said Todd Johnson, general manager at Ontrack Europe. “Today, businesses and individuals are storing almost all their data electronically. This means simple, do-it-yourself products like EasyRecovery FileRepair, that empower users to protect and repair files themselves, are invaluable tools.”

Included in the EasyRecovery FileRepair suite is a built-in Crisis Centre, providing emergency data recovery assistance. This includes EasyRecovery software for recovering lost or deleted data and a remote data recovery service, which allows Ontrack technicians to perform recoveries through a modem or Internet connection. Ontrack’s in-lab service can also be called upon for severe data loss situations.

EasyRecovery FileRepair can be used with all versions (including XP) of Microsoft Office running on Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000 and ME. The suite of EasyRecovery FileRepair products for Microsoft Office can be bought online, and costs £519.99. Standalone components can also be bought over the Web. PowerPoint, Excel and Word versions cost £89.99 and the Access and Outlook products can be bought for £264.99. Further details can be found online at www.ontrack.co.uk/filerepair.
