Ontrack delivers DIY file repair program for Microsoft suite

~ EasyRecovery FileRepair™ rescues damaged files ~

Ontrack, the world’s leading provider of data availability software and services, has launched EasyRecovery FileRepair™, a do-it-yourself application for repairing Microsoft® Office files corrupted by viruses, crashes, accidental system shutdown or power cuts.

The application automatically restores and repairs lost Microsoft® Office files into new, readable documents. This thereby saves users the time and inconvenience it would otherwise take to recreate them.

Ontrack’s file repair program is currently available for Microsoft® Word. Capabilities for Microsoft® Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook will be available in the near future.

“As anybody who’s had their computer crash on them, or suffered a power cut knows, the loss of data can have a crippling effect,” said Todd Johnson, general manager at Ontrack Europe. “That’s why there is a growing demand in the marketplace for software that not only recovers lost data, but repairs files too, whether they were damaged by virus, power outage or any other cause.”

EasyRecovery FileRepair can be used with modern versions (including XP) of Microsoft® Office running on Windows® 95, 98, Me, NT, and 2000. The Microsoft® Word component is available for £89.99 and online at http://www.ontrack.co.uk/filerepair/ or by calling Ontrack on 00 800 10 12 13 14. Volume and corporate licensing opportunities are also available.
